...Does she say IT'S JUST A WOLF?!

see, I still thing Moff's going to go for Bad Wolf Rose, and that only Warrior Doctor can see/hear her. I'll cry a lot if this is true, but I think I'm right, from the stills we've seen.

I agree about her Being Bad Wolf rather than the Rose we're used to, and while it's disappointing, I'm also slightly pleased as this means Moff isn't messing with things too much regarding Ten and Rose etc, which is probably a good

Hmm, on first glance I had to go SQUEEEEE over this idea. I'm all over Bad Wolf stuff. But then I stopped to think about it and...I'm not optimistic it'll turn out right in Moff's hands (not that I ever was). The Bad Wolf story was *Rose's* story, not the Doctor's; a message she sent through time to herself so that the circle would never end; that in the end it wasn't about the Doctor, but about Rose being the hero of the story. And I have a hunch Moff is going to screw that up too, because he just doesn't get that about Rose (or any of RTD's companions).

Annoyingly, I'm feeling more and more like I'm not going to be able to resist watching this episode, even though I'm feeling consistently discouraged that it will actually satisfy me.

Ditto, but then I've never trusted him with any version of Rose. And yet...

I've always known I wasn't going to be able to resist watching. I don't have that kind of willpower against my extremely high levels of curiosity about how all this will work out.

I always kind of figured my willpower/apathy would give out once the special was out there. It's Rose (maybe) and Ten; it's stunt-casting that's probably going to work on me, and I can't help but feel a little like the fact that he went with *this* stunt-casting for the special means that on some level he does get what we want to see. I may not trust that he actually knows enough to give us what we want (I'd settle for not frakking things up) but I still want to say that it says something that this is where his mind went (just probably not far enough).

I am both intensely curious about how this will play out and intensely doubtful that I will like the way it plays out. It does look very much like Bad Wolf!Rose will be in play, not actual, current, living-with-Ten-2-in-Pete's-Universe Rose and I'm not sure if that'll make it better or worse.

Unfortunately, I will be in a car during the first airing and probably won't be able to see it until the evening showing on BBC America, so I'll miss a lot of the initial reactions.

I have a feeling that only John Hurt can see Rose/Bad Wolf and neither Ten nor Eleven can see her. I don't know why I think that but I do.

There's a lot of costume similarity between Hurt and Billie, for a start.

I dunno...I think going anywhere near Pete's World is fraught with difficulty too. Probably better to leave all that to the imagination. Moffatt does tend to elevate leading ladies to cosmic status, so I can see Bad Wolf Rose working for him.

What I have confidence in is Moffat's and BBC's common sense to care about the viewership's hardest-held desires. RTD himself admitted that bringing Rose back had more to do with ratings than his own personal desire to see them reunited. If these guys know what's good for them, they won't royally mess this up.

And there's really no need to jump to the conclusion that the 10th doctor won't EVER see Rose in the whole episode, if indeed she is visible only to War Doctor. If anything, it seems much more likely that it is an enormous buildup to the very end when they can see each other. It's just another film device.
